what are some most important fundamentals to look at?

If you were trading oil stocks right now, looking for something to buy, I'd think you'd want to buy something that has the best chance of survival in its field. And a short would be something that has a good chance of bankruptcy

what are some most important fundamentals to look at?

Debt--it depends where we are in the market cycle. A pickup in demand can save a debt laden company at the last minute. Those can be more spectacular plays on the upside. But they are the quickest and hardest hit going into a recession. Like they say--when the tide goes out you can see who's...

    Al Brooks method

DDR, you helped me remember. My mentor was a great athlete and used many sports analogies to explain trading. Vince Lombardi could talk about one play for hours. It was the off-tackle play. One play and its variations. I noticed after awhile I was doing the same thing with flags, those that...

How can anyone predict the crude prices?

I'm speculating here, but the difference between stocks and oil is that one is in a long uptrend, the other in a downtrend. You can't pick a bottom in a market that keeps breaking down and expect to get away with it. No matter what the indicators say. There's no support in a bear market.

How can anyone predict the crude prices?

It's not completely political. I suggest a little Taleb. Fooled by Randomness would be a good place to start. Mind you, I don't necessarily agree with him.

Yes. The thing is, I do get something out of what almost everyone posts. But its the unintended message behind, usually. I learn a lot about people's psychology.
