That does surprise me since VLC plays pretty much every public codec. Maybe it is a brand new codec or it is a proprietary codec? What is the suffix of the file when you uncompress it?

econometrics -- I couldn't download the file but VLC pretty much plays everything under the sun: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ And its on every OS. It does have trouble playing some Blu Ray media, but otherwise it plays everything else.

I never saw any real-time alert from IB but I figured when the ES collapsed at about 1347 I knew there was a serious problem. IB is always late with these updates.
