On what time frame? Across how many set's of multiple time frames? Did you include any other indicators overlapped with breakout signals? My guess is you tested something very very simple and have drawn large conclusions based off of that.

Most people are bad at controlling their emotions and impulses. Combined with either inexperience and/or poor analytical abilities and we can easily see why so many fail to find consistency.

You're right of course, these nuances COULD be deeply analyzed and determined and then objectified. My only contention is that it may be too difficult to identify and then create the logic to be coded. I won't say impossible but it would be incredibly tough.
