I'm not sure this is correct. The swiss was receiving lots of EUR flows even though they are in Europe, then the SNB intervened. It seems that that point marked the end of the 'lets run to high PPP currencies as havens' trade, now people just run to the USD

I don't think I have any edge over the market trading forex in such a short-time frame without inside information. I would caution you to believe that you do without a lot of evidence from a simulator or a small account

EUR is tough right now. I've been burned many times this year shorting the low 1.30ish only to see it spike to 1.40 again and again. I might have to bit the bullet and try the trade again(up from my current small short). I won't be adding right now, might as well wait for the next 'we are saved'...

Evidence that Re-hyopthecation caused MF Global failure

No, I don't believe that is the reason at all. The reason was because there was plenty of funds in the US and it would take longer to try to take customer funds from abroad as the wire system would not be immediate I'm yet to find any 'evidence' that hypothecation was the reason for MF failure

How To Pay Back MF Global Customers 100%

The Fed made a lot of money on those loans, its not likely to be the case with a bankrupt company which had already pledged everything to stay afloat

InteractiveBrokers "hyper-hypothecates" $14.5b of Customer Funds?

If the IB guy is correct and they are only using 6% of their pledging capacity then there is very little risk on their hypothecation. Their equity is several times that 6% A far bigger risk in my view is some kind of black swan leading to a severe loss on Timber Hill which would be bailed out...

How To Pay Back MF Global Customers 100%

The Fed is not allowed to lend money in a risky transaction that is not fully collateralized to the full satisfaction of the board of Governors. I find it doubtful that MF has collateral that is not already seized that would please the board of Governors

Evidence that Re-hyopthecation caused MF Global failure

OP, I believe you are wrong. What killed MF was the broker dealer arm, the money on the FCM(Which I believe its the vast majority of deposits but a former client can confirm) can not be 'rehypothecated', it can only be invested in securities allowed by the regulations(Which ONLY allow foreign...

They said they didn't do that with CLIENT money but they can do it by borrowing from third parties. Indeed, that was Mr Corzine's plans for MF Global
