    Secret edge , loophole .....

I'm a skilled Technical trader who trades clear repeated setups several times a day. The traders who lose to me when trading the same time frame are Unskilled traders. Here are several setups I traded Friday that I trade day after day with net positive results: Ascending triangle breakout...

    Secret edge , loophole .....

I guess "on the verge of" is a rather subjective time frame because the methods I've been using with consistent success many months are the methods someone tried to teach me a couple years ago, which are the same methods he was using for many years, and happen to be the same methods I can read...

That was so freakin' funny. Good thing my tea's still brewing or there'd be a mess to clean off the screens :p Nothing can make you money on a trade always, but my static rules and setups make me money way more often than not and my maximum loss on a trade is at least half my minimum profit...

    ADD/ADHD traders

Dairy products are not fit for human consumption. It's a huge, government-subsidized industry, though, and so the power of this industry allows it to brainwash the population, starting in early childhood through the public [mis]education system. This industry itself and its infiltration into...

No coin flip on that chart. The little retail traders running with the herd that day made plenty of money. There was not a single long signal until well after the "flash crash". It was a pure, strong trend day.

Can you provide some example of "best setups" that often fail to produce winning trades? By "often", I'm assuming you mean more than 60% of the time. If it's a winning trade, then we haven't donated to the market. If our timing's off (such as we short in an uptrend, take a loss as the trend...

    Regarding Statistical Edges

I just got an email from a friend with a link to a Rock, Paper, Scissors - You vs. the Computer. I had a little fun with it and I realized that the big market movers are pretty much the veteran computers playing against each other to gain an edge and profit. In this game it's you vs...

    Experienced Traders' Bloopers

Oh man, I did this once, too. I was actively watching two different stocks, charts right near each other. I decided to trade one as it set up, but forgot I had the other one on my LII entry window. What allowed this to happen so easily was that both stocks were trading at nearly the same price...

    Secret edge , loophole .....

The reason so many traders fail is contained right here in these two statements, minus the words I placed in brackets. If traders traded the way they're taught to trade by experienced profitable traders, they'd be trading on the same side as the herd and making money because the bigger, more...

    Matcha's Dow E-mini Journal

Wow, this really resonated with me. I've done exactly that and I naively believe I can easily share with others what took me thousands of hours of analysis, screen time and experience to achieve. In reality, we must all put in the time and then create something that's our own. I had a...

The breakout of a descending/ascending triangle in 6E and CL most often just run hard, so I take them first time every time. However, if in YM those types of breaks tend to fail more often, consider the second-mouse entry. In the example I posted on your chart above, it appears that there's...

    CL Redux

Great post, big hurdle to overcome when starting out. I was doing this all the time, and finally decided to have my husband write an automated program using my basic strategies because if I couldn't learn how to trade ALL my signals as soon as they occurred, then I'd have a system do it for me...

    Experienced Traders' Bloopers

Sounds similar to me posting the following on Thursday at 12:53pm eastern time on CL Redux: Then putting on the trade @ 100.35, .20 from what is now that last pivot low CL saw before a) hitting a pivot high of 103.03 in that overnight session, and b) continuing on yesterday to eventually top...

The initial short entry was much earlier, break of the descending triangle. Once you miss a move, wait patiently, the next entry will come. Chasing momentum is great if you chase it early on, as soon as price breaks. Chasing momentum once a move is well underway is low probability; you'll...

    Experienced Traders' Bloopers

What I've finally come to realize is that losing trades that occur as a result of following your trading rules are an indication that you are trading well; you're not picking and choosing as if you can somehow predict which valid setups will produce a profit and which ones won't. However, you...

I trade swings off the 5-min chart, so I trade both long and short, but the long profits outweighed the short profits nearly 2:1. Definitely a trend, but opportunities both ways. Good weekend, all!

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

Who let him back in here? :p LF, since there was a nice support floor at a slightly higher low off a slightly higher high, your minimum upside target is previous support becoming resistance, so 1319.25 was a technical target. On the other hand, 1318.00 was nothing to sneeze at :)

Nice call, ES Master :) Since there was the slightly higher high, I would've trailed a point like LF did near the low. Still, a quick, easy 5 handles there.

    CL Redux

Never have, though I found out some time ago there is a NoDoji who tweets trades each day. That is not me tweeting. I am NOT for the birds!
