Quote from hippie:
Here is an article I came accross about how dairy products causes ADD/ADHD and other problems in kids and adults. I do not know much about this. Please comment if you have any experience on this.

Dairy products are not fit for human consumption. It's a huge, government-subsidized industry, though, and so the power of this industry allows it to brainwash the population, starting in early childhood through the public [mis]education system. This industry itself and its infiltration into "educational" government organizations allows it to promote lies so large that most people swallow them easily.
Cow's milk is designed to grow a newborn calf into a full-grown cow in a rather brief period of time. It's designed for infant cows. It is NOT designed for human consumption and is a cause of, or major contributor to, major health problems in humans including asthma, allergies, juvenile and type II diabetes, arthritis and other autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, tumor growth (cancer), osteoporosis and heart disease.
If you research the well-controlled scientific studies and discard the industry-funded and poorly conducted studies, you'll find ample evidence of all the above.
Here are a few of the lies the industry promotes with help of our tax dollars:
Dairy products help you lose weight.
Dairy products are important for good health.
Dairy products help prevent osteoporosis.
Dairy products are a quality source of protein.
Read "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell, PhD. of Cornell University for a real eye-opener about dairy products.
The majority of people in the world are lactose intolerant:
100% of Native Americans
95% of Asians
90% of Africans
75% of African Americans
Those who maintain lactose tolerance into adulthood are mainly mainly of northern European descent because of their dairy consumption through many generations. Though this rare lactose tolerance allows them to consume dairy without major gastrointestinal disturbance, it does not protect them from the other hazards of dairy consumption such as diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune diseases (arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, and so on), nor from the tumor growth promotion as a result of high IGF1 levels in dairy which contribute to the high rates of breast, colon and prostate cancer. The increased rates of cancers correlate to the tripling of cheese consumption between the 1970's and now.
Diet is a large factor in ADD/ADHD, and the major problem foods are dairy, refined sugars, and wheat (especially refined flour).
An example of the power of a dairy-free whole foods diet was demonstrated nicely here:
