Totally agree with you JB and don't consider you mean as you are obviously saying this in a constructive way (I appreciate that). The Gekko stuff was done 4 years ago and was very basic (I knew quite little about Art then and have learnt much since, and still learning a lot of course). It was...

Well, it is difficult to avoid a political tone when your subject is related to the sovereign debt crisis I think. Finance and Politics are quite interwoven. Now I can hear, and I hope, understand what you mean. Anyway, always a pleasure to discuss my stuff with you (if you are on facebook...

Hello, thanks for your feedback again. As you mention, there is indeed no specific reason for choosing wine, which is of course not related to the crisis in any way. That series came to my mind because the ideas of Wrath and Economic recession were mixed in the news. Steinbeck's novel...

Hello New cheesy art released ;-) "The Grapes of Wrath" Wine Series. Got inspired by the parrallel which can be made nowadays between the 1930s crisis and our current debt crisis. An obvious reference to John Steinbeck's novel being famous for depicting that dark period of the 20th...

Ahah good one! :-) I am not sure though we really have the same definition of socialism between you americans and us europeans. I have the feeling your definition of Socialism is closer to our definition of Communism (which I can't stand either). But I may be wrong.

Ahah, I guess I am not as greedy as I could be and yeah there is most likely "socialist" roots in my work even if I don't consider myself socialist or politically engaged. I think my motivation is more about ego and a need of recognition more than about money actually :-)

I have been more on the defensive in prior exchanges on that thread if you have courage to read... But well, I am not here to try to convince anyone of anything. Just sharing my stuff. To be honest I don't sell a lot and money is not my primary goal by doing this...

Hello I have to agree my stuff is getting more and more into political expression even if it was not my intent at first. But Economics and Politics are so much related and entangled nowadays it is difficult to avoid. My next series I am working on will be overtly political regarding the debt...

A crisis or drama rarely has only one responsible or actor. Of course, thousands of liars were fully responsible for the whole crisis and Mozilo was certainly not the sole responsible for the subprime crisis. But for a "crime" there usually is only one judged guilty for many others... These guys...

Thanks for that insight. It changes from "your "art" is shit" :-) Well, I did not attibute sins randomly to characters. I have an explanation for each and I consider these pieces political. Regarding art, it's maybe questionable, I don't know. I did my best with my skills and put all my heart...

Well, sure. For example, the 7 sins of capital ? That series was made in 2008-2009 during the subprime / credit crisis. I adapted the Seven Capital Sins and chose 7 portrait of finance men who held a responsibility in the financial mess we got in and attributed to each of them a capital sin...
