Lots of politicians were at the Bitcoin conference. The two presidential candidates (Trump and Kennedy), two prior candidates (Vivek Ramaswamy and Tim Scott), and besides Tim Scott, another nine U.S. senators. Quite remarkable.

I was there in the third row. Pretty cool seeing these Bitcoin luminaries up close and in person. And to be in an auditorium of 8,000 (!) like-minded people was amazing. Around 20,000 total at the conference.

Because everyone who held it at the close on Friday was given $1.50 per share.

BITO often pays hefty dividends. The current bitcoin price will take BITO to approximately $22 from its ex-dividend price of $21.01 (Friday's close of $22.51 minus $1.50 dividend).

News trumps technicals. The news flow for bitcoin is so thick these days that I wouldn’t read too much into any particular chart pattern.

I distinctly remember the bitcoin price moving up as the regional banks were selling off back when all of that was going on the first half of 2023. In real time, the opposite movements felt directly connected.

It's more what we expect USD to do relative to hard assets, rather than other currencies.

On "What Bitcoin Did," they recently interviewed IREN, a miner who said its cost to mine one bitcoin is $17K. Sounds like a pretty decent profit margin at current bitcoin prices.

You can't tell how much work is behind a quote like that. Some might devote a tremendous amount of energy to the topic before making such a statement.

Implying johnarb is a lucky n=1 is much too dismissive. There was a ton of work behind that call. And it’s not like he made that call and disappeared for 2 years. He understands bitcoin and crypto better than most and shares his knowledge and insight on ET day after day.

I'm finding it more and more strange to not see a stronger price reaction to all the ETF activity. schizo said something along the lines of you'd have to be an idiot to not realize the big players are manipulating the price. The Wall Street types surely see all the ETF interest. I'd guess...

Bitcoin being a hedge against stupidity is something I think about often. Every time the U.S. Congress stupidly spends money it doesn't have, and every time the Federal Reserve Bank stupidly prints money to fund Congress's overspending, I'm more confident in bitcoin's future. Like johnarb says...
