glad i had this on paper trade luckily iron condors on other things worked out this week.

You mean at the money not out of the money?

Does anyone trade iron butterflys? I am trying to analyze the pros and cons of these versus iron condors. One disadvantage I can think of is you'd have to cover the short side that is in the money to avoid option exercise and pin risk, also it has a lower win rate. The advantages, more % gains.

Haha yes thanks OTM, you know what I noticed just this week? If the spread is really small like .5 or 1 point, theres almost no change betw the spread when IV goes up.

OTM in your opinion, how close would you let price get to the underlying short call or put before you cover the position?
