Have to keep an eye on the book when trading stuff that is less liquid. UB, RTY, or YM for example.

Your welcome. Just remember when I am using the averaging down techniques I discuss in my journal it always has to be in the correct context to use them and it does take quite a bit of time to learn what those contexts are and to practice trading them.
3. I currently trade via US-based Stage-5 with Dorman as the FCM and Rithmic as the data provider - do you know anyone who has a similar set up on the forums and trades from Sweden.

thanks

Not sure about that one. I don´t know anyone here that use those providers. But there are really good software available for trading futures here. I have a few friends that used to trade huge size in the futures market (via the Capital Insurance structure) but they had hard time to cope with how the markets changed around 2010 or so. They came to Sweden because of the low tax on trading.
2. How are expenses incurred during the course are treated - are they tax deductible (like I can do in the UK) - my monthly fixed expenses for exchange access, trading related software comes to about $500 and about $1000/month in commissions.

Depends on what tax structure is used. If you trade via your own company, all costs are deductible. But via ISK for example, no costs are deductible (but the tax is really low anyway, insignificant really). Commissions are deductible in the company structure and also in the private account structure.
