Hello Ed,

I was researching your product Cool Trade, and figured it was you who was answering someones question. The sales techniques over the phone are rather soft, which is good. Is it reasonable to assume that anyone can achieve 60 to 100% returns a year, or better. What is typical?

I first joined Elitetrader to warn others about autotrading brokers with hard selling people. You could probably find those posts. I have tried and failed 3 times with auto trading software for various reasons. One of those was due to MF Globals collapse due to over exposure to Greek Bonds. The other two failures were due mainly to the systems stopped working and the programmers couldn't adapt to the changing conditions of the market.

Still your software is half the price I have paid previously and I'm doing my due diligence as I dont want to embaras myself a fourth time.
I've actually been going through all your posts. Its very helpful. Some things are over my head as I'm still relatively new to options.

Just curious, how're you doing in the market?

So would you say that the best strategies for trading the options involve the following (This is what I do):

1) Understand what underlying you're trading and the fundamental value it has as well as value proposition.
2) Determine the directional assumption
3) Determine the current techncial's and areas of support or resistance
4) Determine the strike prices of your position using probability
5) determine your risk tolerance

I assume no one just looks at options as a mathematical model without any consideration for the underlying business.

By Volatility modelling, do you mean determining an equation for the path of volatility and adjusting the variables to come up with a semi-consistent model of where the volatility can be expected?

How do you go about doing this?
Not at all. I'm just blunt. Time has forced me to get straight to the point vs storytelling. Use the search function in the upper right hand corner. I have thousands of posts on option trading as well as books to read, etc. Good luck.
Hey mav, you seem pretty bitter/annoyed , what is up with that?

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations of books/sites to check it in regards to trading options? I'd like to get better. Thanks!
Hey eusdaiki Found you in a search for zipline. I'm currently learning gbeced/pyalgotrade, frgomes/jquantlib , lsgro/quantcomponents , and of course quantopian/zipline.

So at the end of this "class," its students are then qualified to buy mentoring for $4300/month. If you are even tempted to fall for this kind of bullshit, you are in bad shape. Protect your money and more importantly your mind from the myths of the trading education industry. Be wary of courses, seminars, mentoring, etc. targeted at beginners.

Do what I suggested in my post. Get over the buzzword "daytrading" and let your mind see the various places from where you might start learning about the operation of the market. I suggested one place. Pick up the two books by O'Neil and the two documents by Hershey. They will cost you nothing or next to nothing in terms of money, but they will require a lot of work to understand their contents. After you absorb the material, you will not be able to extract a dime from the market, but the real learning can start. Currently you are not in a place of beginning to learn what is what. Shape up and get yourself facing the right direction.
Greetings Mr!

Sorry for writing to you here, hopefully you won't get mad and if you will be, then I am really sorry and won't type a word again.

I became a member here yesterday, I was wondering if you have any tips! I have read many of your posts and really, you're a true inspiration. Enjoy every word written actually.
My main goal with becoming a successful trader is that I have had a really rough childhood and no revenge is better than success. Also bad economics can sometimes split a family, I don't want that to happen to mine.

Right now I am just 22 and I've got a strong interest for trading, actually taking classes pretty often. I can't attend the university for at least 4 years due to my health condition (Got a sickness)

What would you do if you were in my kind of situation?

Thanks in advance Szeven.

Regards,
Dennis
