IMO, that is a bold statement when we don't yet have all the facts. There isn't any evidence yet that Zimmerman came at Martin with his gun drawn. There is a lot of evidence so far that supports the idea that he didn't even draw his gun until he was in a struggle on the ground, and the most reliable witness puts him on the bottom of that struggle. And there is even some substantial evidence that there was a fight over the gun when the shot was fired.
So ask yourself a big IF... if Zimmerman really did get attacked and beaten while on the ground. He then pulled his gun and they began fighting over it. The gun either discharged or he was finally able to pull the trigger... Would that constitute an overzealous individual, or a guy who is realistic about the neighborhood he lives in?
