Zero chance an impeachment trial helps the democrats

At this point it is clear that not enough Republicans will cross over to convict Trump -- the results of this Senate trial are already "known".

If the complete trial was held and ended today, maybe they wouldn't convict.

OR, maybe some GOP senators want to 'appear' to be with Trump, but after hearing the testimony, and seeing the evidence, they may change their position to something like, "I can't, in good conscious, after hearing and seeing the testimony and evidence, allow Trump's actions to go unpunished, in the name of justice, fairness, and integrity."

Maybe some GOP senators don't want to 'appear' to have their minds made up, without first having the trail.

ALSO, you seem to underestimate the ability of Trump to go full FUBAR in a split second...just like he did during his speech before the insurrection.

Things can change on a dime with Trump.
