What is the precursor of an action? It is a thought. But then what is the precursor of the thought that preceded the action? Because whatever precedes the thought ( dictating the action ), is what you have to learn to control.

I fail to see what all this nonsense has to do with trading.

I wonder IF I posted 15 pages of vidoes and articles of Jesus Christ it would be as tolerated. ?

Push ups always did it for me. That and a heavy bag. I am too active minded to meditate...or maybe that is the obstacle we must overcome?

I have a hard time clearing my mind. Hard to sleep at night as well because of being active minded, so meditating in the morning or during the day seems like it would be extremely difficult....

Anyone else have a similar "problem"?

Joab,

Meditation isn't about religion. Its about quieting the mind, controlling the mind or gaining awareness of the minds activities.

As such it is highly relevant to trading.

It can be associated with religions (yoga comes from Hinduism say) but if you looked at the US most practitioners of Yoga are not Hindus. Prayer is also associated with trading and if you could put up 15 pages on its positive or negative effects on trading you might get someone to let it stay in this thread.

I just said Jesus Christ, I never said anything about religion either :)

On a side note, I know of all of these people / wanna bee gurus that have been mentioned in this thread and I also know a lot of people that follow their philosophies and non of them are at peace.

You insist on misunderstanding Joab. The guru thing only comes up with people who need to have a god or christ or somesuch and inject it into reality.

Reality is that god/christ/religion/lamas are not needed in this discussion.

Meditation, Yoga and that specific set of practices that are Zen don't need them to have a potential impact on trading.

Please take Christ and put him and his effects on trading in another thread if you want ... but don't become a pest by injecting him here.
