There can’t be any of those things if there is no such thing as objective lies. You said that if someone can decide if something is a lie then bias is involved and that is wrong. So if I call you a pedophile you can’t say that is slander because that is your bias.

I can ask you to prove such an allegation. When you fall flat on your face to assert proof, I am awarded victory on the slander, and you pay the cost. Eventually, you are bankrupted and cannot continue the stupidity.

This is why you are against banning Russian trolls who spread mistruths because the judger of the mistruth will be biased.

People on this very board make repeated comments about paying folks in rubles and how Putin likes them, simply because they don't align with the thinking of the left. It is Youtube's property (just like the NFL owners who can fire players who kneel for the anthem); in many cases, it is also their legal obligation. They are obliged to remove child pornography and other things. Of course, this is censorship and wrong.

Direct threats and incitement of violence are not protected by Free Speech or the 1st Amendment, and refusing to provide a forum to allow someone an easier time to commit violence is not considered censorship.

Again, the problem is not the rule but the person who gets to decide the rule. It is the person who experiences bias.

Nearly half of Republicans say Trump should have ‘authority to close news outlets if they behave badly’: poll

According to a new poll, a plurality of Republican voters want President Donald Trump to be able to shut down media outlets if he decides they have engaged in “bad behavior.”

The Ipsos poll, first reported by The Daily Beast, found that 43 percent of Republicans believe “the president should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior.” Thirty-six percent of Republicans surveyed said that the president should not have the power to silence the press.

About a quarter of Republicans also said that Trump should shutter mainstream outlets like CNN and The Washington Post. Twenty-eight percent agreed with Trump’s statement that the media are an “enemy of the people.” And 79 percent said that media treats Trump “unfairly.”

Only 12 percent of Democrats said that Trump should be able to shut down outlets he disagrees with. Twenty-one percent of self-identified independents also agreed that Trump should have the power.
