I use a L-shape table that I bought from Ikea and a 4-monitor arm to hold 4 19-inch monitors. The monitors are too heavy that the table breaks. do you guys use a wooden table? is your table having problems with the monitor weight?

Hard wood. From IKEA also. About 3/4'' tick.

I use the IKEA GALANT (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S79807617) and have had no problems - but I just use a freestanding mount. I could see that using a stand that mounts to the edge would be a problem and break the wood.
