I predict we have a recession which will impact the election cycle giving democrats control of everything. Shortly after the election the Fed will engineer a big recovery. At which point the Dems will hold the presidency for 8 to 16 years. The supreme ct will go left and we will lose a large amount of our constitutional freedoms to a "living breathing" document which the court tell us has to change because it is no longer relevant.

At which point we will not be able to criticize certain protected classes and institutions.
Many states will then be able end gun ownership as we know it. Then we will have every american but the cronies taxed into a drone class.

1984 will commence in 2020.

Quite possibly. Better chances are a global recession with a collapse of most all financial sectors. Reconstruction will be a form of SDR's replacing the Dollar and all other currencies or at least pegging them. Partial sovereign concessions will be mandatory to join the new IMF.

Everyone will sell their soul to keep a fragment of their normal lifestyle.
