So during a time period in 2020 when they told you not to call an ambulance unless you absolutely, desperately needed one — people called for an ambulance less. There should be no surprise about this.
The ant-vaxxer is lying again...throwing more shit at the wall in hopes something will stick.
British Columbia and all provinces in Canada.
Troy Clifford, president of Ambulance Paramedics of B.C and Emergency Dispatchers of B.C., in a news release.
"This can tie-up dispatchers and ambulance crews during an unprecedented time in history and potentially delay more serious calls."
That doesn't necessarily mean calls overall are increasing, however. In fact, ambulance dispatchers have seen fewer calls for other types of emergencies, possibly because people are staying at home during the pandemic.
"With a large chunk of our population in self-isolation at home, ambulance dispatchers say they are receiving fewer calls about car accidents, falls, assaults, and workplace accidents," Clifford said.
The above was similar in Kentucky, the United States. My youngest sibling is an EMT...they had similar situations to the rest of Canada and the rest of the United States. People were being told on a weekly basis by their local public health agencies/TV news to
only call for an ambulance if they suspected they had Covid.
Those types of warnings scared the hell out of people. Simply, people weren't calling 911 for
other types of emergencies and they were too damn scared to go to the hospital because the hospital was too damn busy dealing with Covid patients.
Yet, hospitals had 3x the number of walk-in emergencies for Covid because people took themselves to the hospital...they drove, family member or a friend took them to the hospital. Thus, there's unexpected excess mortality due to hospitals being overburdened (not able to provide proper care)...
All while there's a small decline in ambulances bringing in patients overall.
In contrast, the virus spike before vaccination...my younger brother stated he was pulling double shifts because of the dramatic increases in 911 calls for Covid. There were so many, 911 dispatchers were telling people to take themselves to the hospital or have someone bring them...
Not realizing it was an invitation to spread more Covid infections to family members or friends.
