Except you are pushing a fantasy. There has been very little pushback from pilots over the vaccine mandate in the U.S. or other countries. If these pilots quit there are currently plenty of pilots still on furlough ready to take their place.

It is laughable to watch the pilot unions attempt to use the vaccine mandate as a negotiating point claiming there will be all sorts of holiday travel chaos due to pilot vaccine mandates.

This is an excellent opportunity for the airlines to trim their staff of the few people who lack common sense and display very poor judgment. These -- after all -- are the last people you want piloting your planes.

Similarly in healthcare, military, education, etc. there are very few employees quitting due to vaccine mandates -- and the ones who do leave their co-workers & managers are glad to be rid of them.

Understand my roommate was also high level union representative. He talks to pilots regularly and is a better source of information than your propaganda sources. Pilots at American Airlines are working to their Federal hours of service capacity rights now. There have been delayed flights due to scheduling mistakes involving pilots with insufficient hours to complete the flight legally. One would think American Airlines would have tapped into this “Reserve” of “Furloughed pilots” a long time ago. Employee based capacity constraints are not limited to pilots, either. Other flight crew, baggage handlers, and other ground crew are working high amounts of overtime right now. My roommate recently told me of mistake made by an overworked ground crew that resulted in a damaged plane, causing the loaded plane to be put out of service and a much delayed flight. Conclusion, The power of one: The transportation industry, not just the airlines, will feel the loss of any “Early retirement”, which ultimately affects us all. Vaccine mandates will not be without cost. Politically, or otherwise.

I don't know. When Southwest suddenly cancels thousands of flights and gives bogus reasons that not even the FAA accepts, I don't necessarily have the time or interest to sleuth everything out. Lots of the media bought into it though and still do as far as I can see. But I will leave that to you and maybe you can spend tomorrow on it. Meanwhile, as I said. MORE TO COME. Whatever the story is, it is not coming together smoothly.

These pilots and airlines have been jerked around and fatigue from so many covid rules and trying to figure their lives out from it, that it most likely is covid related even if it turns out that it is not specifically vaccine related. There are multiple stress points being reached in the economy from all of the poor signaling to workers and business leaders.

Now you are suggesting that I and others are anti-vaxxers reading conspiracy stuff when we are just looking at mainstream media. Just part of the poorly managed covid signalling mess.

But the FAA responded to that with a statement saying there have been no air traffic related cancellations or staffing shortages within air traffic control since Friday. No other airlines were forced to cancel flights in mass numbers. They said “some airlines” are experiencing “scheduling challenges” due to “aircraft and crews being out of place”

Due to months of staffing shortages, the Southwest pilots labor union, says reports of fatigue among pilots, which requires them not to fly, are tripple historic norms.
