The fact that you needed financial aid means you and your parents are losers according to most people in this thread.
That's a hell of a statement. Not sure where it comes from.

I think we miscommunicate. You may be correct regarding this particular article. But I talk about the intent and what is exactly profiled. The board does get proprietary data bases that clearly indicate the racial makeup of the neighborhood, median salary, crime stats, educational standards of the location the applicant indicated he or she grew up or lives at. The large portion of the article actually shows graphs and income disoarancies between races, so of course is race a huge factor in this score.

The scoring algorithm does not take race as a factor for determining hardship. This is stated in the article.
Correct that it is not stated in the article and CBS and CNN make as sure as hell that it is not included. If you did not grasp yet that we are in the age of media manipulation then I can't help you. The graphs (which show race as clearly mentioned as Asian, Blacks, Caucasian, Latino) in the WSJ article are DIRECTLY taken out from the communique that the test board published and on which the director commented and referred to in several interviews. Do some background search and you will find my claim confirmed
