You Lucky Bastards: FMD

If FMD's stated numbers are all bona fide you might be on to something here, BLSH. I might pick up some FMD if it gets down to the 3 1/2 area.

While we're already dumpster diving here, what do you think of Sprint Nextel?

Hey RM. I have been watching Sprint just drift lower and lower, and then lost track, and then noticed again when it made a big dump to under $6 about 10 days ago. The massive debt they took on buying Nextel, given the competitive landscape of the wireless market, is what has kept me from buying in, but admittedly, I've been mulling over taking a nibble at anything under $19, and now it's just over $6, so....

It's purely a wait and hold. I think the irrationality of the credit crisis pushed TERI into the corner they got shoved into, lining up a substitute backer of this student loan debt won't be difficult when cooler heads prevail, that this is a beautiful mixture of profit and public policy as dual goals, and that recessionary or contractionary economic periods are generally good for higher education.

I may go big if I have the brass cojones and buy a boatload tomorrow, assuming this stays leveled off.

Agreed. I was trading FMD a lot 2 years ago. Their strength is that database they have of all the credit-risk assessments of 18-24 yr olds. They are _the_ best at underwriting educational loans and identifying risk.
