You have to love liberal economics.

Yes, Americans have made a fairly regular habit of electing idiots to that position; in particular, several recent Republican presidents lacked the skills, intelligence, and ethics to properly do the job. But if you somehow feel proud of this crew, you are welcome to it.

You know what most Canadians say over and over again these days. Thank god we aren't American and ruled by Trump. Thank god we have affordable, universal health care and quality public schools, and we aren't in a constant state of social unrest along political and ethnic lines. Thank god we don't have many fellow citizens carrying a lethal weapon in public just to live their normal day.

Harper did try to be a teabagger didn't he? At least I heard complaints.

I don't think less government and less regs means compromising dodgy drug companies selling dangerous drugs to the public :)

I am asking practically, how would it work if there isn't a government who doesn't oversee these things? And if libertarianism does allow for government intervention, how do they determine the right amount? Just trying to think pragmatically.

Say what?

Can you believe the taker community . . . . opening threads like this ?
when they are the first to stretch out the begging bowl.

Yet you come from the city which elected MAYOR ROB FORD

Wasn't this the intent of the trump tax cut? To give most Americans more spending money.

Massive difference between a tax cut and just handing every single citizen a 12000 dollar cheque, in order to pay taxes you need to put in enough work to accumulate a tax bill. Paying people 12k to sit on their ass is a recipe for disaster, and its guaranteed to fail.

Hahahaha trudeau is a character who is equally cartoonish to trump in the eyes of most Canadians, but please do point out how Trudeau is just doing a bang up job since he got elected...... Trudeau actually makes Trump look like Einstein. One of the two ran a multi billion dollar corporation, the other one is a bartender. hahahahahahaha.

No, it has not been close, Hillary won it by over 5 points. Cons haven't won the state in 12 years and you say it's a Repub stronghold? LOL what?
Colorado is a swing state - not a pub stronghold. Correction. But it has been Pub more than Dem historically.
You use Alabama and Kansas as your Examples of Pub failure but you overlook the strongest economic states which tend to be Pub.
Are you confused. ???

Colorado stopped being a swing state about a decade ago - if a Republican wins and loses the state by more than 5 points then it's not a swing state anymore, the swinging stopped a long time back (like Nevada and New Mexico which Bush won)

I am using Kansas as the primary example because the Brownback experiment which conservatives touted was a miserable failure. Alabama is one among many conservative states are literal shitholes.

There is no evidence that 'strongest economic states' tend to be pub, your list included Colorado, California & Massachusetts which are diversified states - the Republican states were Idaho, Utah, North Dakota and Texas which are heavily dependent on natural resources for their stability. Even Saudi Arabia and Libya were strong economically till the oil prices collapsed, doesn't take a genius to run a cash machine.

And what is the main export of Kansas?
And to a lesser extent Alabama and Mississippi?
Agriculture.
That’s as unstable as petroleum products.

Bottom line is that there are many successfully run Pub states and that hurts your feelings.
