You can Eat Pasta and Still be Ripped

For every one gram of pasta you consume your body retains 2.7 grams of water, so virtually all of the overnight weight gain you experience is from water retention.

Hey, I had been toying with the idea of using a similar picture as my avatar! In fact, I think mine is a bit more ripped:

It's all in the lighting.

You might as well go with whole grain pasta. It tastes just as good if not better, is a bit more filling because of the fiber, and probably has a slightly lower GI than regular pasta.

I think that soba noodles are tastier and have fewer calories than whole wheat pasta

It is all calories in and calories out. The laws of physics do not change.

It has been proven many times that quality of calories counts and this has nothing to do with physics.

Now you can eat 1000 calories a day of frootloops and milk and you will lose weight because of caloric deficit but you will lose water and muscle and put yourself into high risk for metabolic syndrome with all that sugar.

But losing weight or getting lean or getting ripped is not just cal in/cal out...it is not so simple minded.

A little research goes a long way...

Not to mention the blood sugar spikes if you eat it often.

Ketogenic dieting. Maintaining ketosis and avoiding gluconeogenesis (too much protein) and you can eat whatever you want, providing you maintain the physiologic-ketogenic state.

So no, you’re wrong.

I had to look up "soba." I didn't know they made buckwheat pasta. I'm sure I would prefer it, and it would definitely have a better nutrition profile than conventional or otherwise wholegrain pasta.
