The netroots will hang him by his balls if he doesn't come through. He will try to cram as much liberalism into his first term as he can, including any measure that will help him get re-elected. Like the Fairness Doctrine, defending and enlarging ACORN, regulating the internet, criminalizing descent as hate crimes, strengthening the unions by abolishing secret ballots, etc., etc.
