Gap Ups, % filled ... 80%
Gap Downs, % filled... 100%

today was a gap up and it didn't fill...right?
went short YM at 10787, stop 20 pts, looking for a fill at 10767...got stopped out....
ES filled(almost plus one tick?)...so my question is ...if ES gap fills do i assume that YM will also...
if ES fills do i ignore the YM gap play and assume that it is filled..or do i play for it to fill.
and vice versa...

I dont know anything about ES.... i did notice that YM opened just above its daily pivot point, while ES opened below it.... taking about an hour before breaking above it and joining the YM in the rally. Normally they correlate.... hard to say which one leads... BUT.... if the YM is basing side ways, while ES is trading down, filling the gap.... when ES begins to rally up after gap fill, i would not expect YM fill but to take off at that time.....not fill the gap........ since it was showing relative strength.

I usually don't short gap ups when there was sell off the day before, they seem to fill faster when they occur after an up day.
Never short a T day, it's like free $$$$$$$$$$!
good chance the YM will hit 10980 before the day is over

ther e are key words tha t trip us up........might........probably.........if .......potential.........maybe......looks like........coulda shoulda woulda.......chances ae are.......and many ohter others..........i still get tripped up by such thiings......once we zero in on a system that works enough to give us enormous confidence to trade the same signals over and over like a monkey see monkey do thingie, then times are much better for the trader at that level........... losing money is the only real bad t hing that can happen to a trader.....of course some say oh, that is good to learn what we did wrong.......if u don't know every possible thing that can go wrong, then experience is not seasoned enough to trade real money if u want to grow it
that is not to say one won't succeed while still losing too much, just saying losign is bad........emotional damage results....like touching something real hot, pain....emotional pain does the same it says don't do that again....so when u don't know when u will feel feel pain you won't enter the trade........to avoid the pain for sure.......getting there takes super effort and time...........not throwing money at the market........recipe for disaster..........demo unil u feel confident........trade 1 contract until u r correct more than not ......and the nots being minor losses..........YM gives 8 pts almost every move with trend at all minimum.........good start..........gives net'
don't try to be the points hero, be the big contracts guy...........gradually learn to extend the points..........Breakeven is winning as long as u don't breakeven every time and that is still better than losing............happy tradin g forever lil duckling
