Trend on 5min is Down (last 60 bars)
Trend on 30min is UP (last 60 bars)
Trend on 30min is Down (last 10 bars)

That's the problem with "trend" :)

Obviously you must be "with the trend" to make money when you break it down to ticks. It's all a matter of time perspective.

I know u r truly convinced of that...sincerely, trend trading not the only way to approach intraday trading....there are dozens....that can work.....it is just less painful for me to go the direction price is going............please, if u have time let's chat and I will not give system away but I will talk and make sense once in awhile, unlike I do posting on the attack board...I can answer a lot of questions if u wish about basic stuff intraday emini's.......pm or chat
 
OK, my first attempt to post a chart. Here is the giant descending triangle showing the breaking down of the Dow and later the horizontal support line (around 10885) becomes the resistance, and the Dow bounces back from it at 14:30.

Also note how the Bollinger bands work.

do any other forum family members have trouble pulling the trigger? that is called "lead paws"....it happens after one gets slammed by market a few times when everything trader learned blows up in face.......I have been there.....I am astounded by what I read here sometimes................traders trying to convince themselves and others that all proven rules can be re -invented and they have found BIG SECRET........i was convinced once that all I saw was only seen by me..........and it was perfect and easy.................not going to happen.....there are big money organizations out there that throw more money at th is stuff than I would use up in 10 lifetimes, yet most of them fail also.............programmers abound, experts are hired, and they fail to see how simple it is....not easy to find, just simple......when the train is leaving the station that is the most opportune time to hop the freight.....if you want to leave the station........not when it is full steam ahead....worse than that is when train is moving top speed and we run in opposite direction of t rain movement attempting to hop aboard,,,,,,,not a purty thing to experience....people understand pain....so when hopping time is here, and we now know the error of our ways, the human mind says "PAIN COMING AGAIN DON'T HOP"..........LEAD PAWS SYNDROME.........FEAR GREED ANGER....DON'T FORGET ANGER...

Anyone that has traded for any amount of time has experienced what you talked about, it happens more in younger traders who are not fully confident in theirselves or their trading plan. People who can not detach theirselves from the emotion of trading will exhibit this kind of second guessing. If you are doing this then you need to step back and tweak your trading plan/ system because something is wrong underneath. The disciplined trader knows that losses are a part of this business and as long as they are trading their plan with discipline, they will keep them small and the gains will overcome them in the end with a sound trading plan.

My 22 yr exp broker disagrees....she says it happens to all traders.......but then again, I am not a trader....my paws are leaden.....I am a systems developer.........others trade my stuff.....the few and the brave...............I thought you had left the country...if you don't start talking more this forum might not reach 500..........my brother is anti-sell as strongly as u r anti-buy........now analyze you 2 guys....if you would....I once had same problem.....no longer matters.....I think u both were option traders big time, and stock traders as well.....am i correct? did u 2 create a direction bias that still plagues, I know he did.....I could say 3 words that would really help you, if I am not being arrogant..........but I can't say them here or chat..........only for you........my friend........
