YM Traders

I only want to make about 1 trade a week with a single contract, but I have no idea what methodology might work for weekly trades. Is Investors Business Daily method good for anticipating which way the DJIA will go? Or maybe there is something better. Any ideas?

hello sir ... why don't you trade small while testing your ideas ... using 100 shares DIA

thats 1/5 the size of YM e mini futures

so in case you are caught in some intraday and daily / overnight huge move (s) while you are away from the computer you will not get hurt that much

or you can paper trade YM or try to backtest your

strategy first

good luck

:)

excellent gutsy call volente. but as one poster puts it its free money every night and no way they'd let us crash on options expiration week. i also 100% agree with you switching to a swing trading method as scalping over time in 5-10 minute increments is deathj with commissions. i've held several trades for 1 or 2 days and done well

My call was based on option expiration and DIA option activity. I have always had very good luck trade OE week due to reading option interest. Commissions do not bother me, I am just trying to get more points per trade with less work like the poster blackgaurd does.

I actually had my highest point total today, but the kicker is I only traded 4 contracts on every trade today as I am now swing trading and not scalping much anymore.

For those eating out of my hand, it was asarcasm directed toward someone who posted that they made a killing WAY after the fact.

Hey Vol,

Curious why you are going away from scalping? Has it not been working for you? I ask because I think we have similar styles and I have done well scalping. Although it can be a grind, it does pay the bills.

Edit: Just read your previous post. That explains it. Thanks.
