Because people are afraid of the unknown. I put off trading futures for years because I was scared of them. Heard the stories of people blowing up. Was worried that my system for equities would not work for them. I will never trade equities again, I don't miss all the bs games on level II, the manipulation from specialist and market makers. Unable to short on a downtick, partial fills, not to mention the better tax treatment.
Maybe they are not for everyone but I sure the hell love trading YM.
See,when I asked people too,about futures, the things they told me *Oh my god, you can't touch those, those are too advanced* etc.... I might have never touched them.
My perception of it all was that ONLY the best, only the ones with lots of money and can accept huge risks are the ones that play with futures.
That is what everyone told me. The only reason I ever found out about them is because my mentor. He introduced them to me, and what I was hearing... was literally shocking.
So, I'm fortunate to learn about Futures, as I like them a lot. It's just strange that they are not as popular, like more trading platforms, more brokers, and such.
Speaking of brokers.
Anyone care to share what broker they use for trading futures.
I have Greenstreet, and it is 3.40 r/t *will be when i start trading*
I will be sticking with them, but I don't know but about 4 or 5 futures brokers specifically.
