oh my god i can't beleive i'm missing all this action today....
I like 2 and 3 better for timing the entry, but look at the 5 min to see where we are heading and for confirmation.
I usually use 9/18 ma crossovers as signals.
This traded was based on the assumption that that the market will be bullish towards the beginning of october and that the break of the 450 support would not be very likely.
Was still surprised by that sudden upmove. We might break out of the trading range today, but I wanted to get out before the choppy lunch session.

look at NQ vs QM ...
also as far as your risk reward ( YM VS QM )
can you explain how you came up with your numbers or give an example of how you will risk only 200 to make 400 here ?

long 10499 (becasue 10498 is a support and we are at the 1/2 way point of are large upmove)
... my trading has been very erratic this morning; I guessed the primary trend; but due to my being tired and lack of clear defined rules for entry and exit ... I'm in the red.
Its a pity because I was in on the 2 biggest moves today; the large down move and the large up move and I still am down.
I let fear and greed get a hold of me. Fear because I'm making money and I dont want it to reverse hard and for me to lose it. Greed because the money is coming in. Put these 2 emotions together and you got someone whom doesnt think clearly, trades nerveously and jumps in and out of trades thinking hes got it all right but when it comes down to it the market has nickle and dimed him into the red.

10508 sold; bought again at 520 sold then at 531;
I'll have to evaluate this to determine if I should of held on ie missed out on 12 points there.
I evaluated my trade; even thou I missed out on 12 points the selling at 508 was the right choice; I determined support was at 510 it closed at 509 on the 2 min there for I stuck to my plan and sold at 509 ie it took at 508

what has been your average number of trades daily in YM?
do you ever hold a position or trade with a position
outside of regular market hours?
do you mind me asking what your RT is commission wise?
ps .. hope you have been watching crude oil movements intraday besides whatever else you look at as a basis for making trading decisions
