YM sep 18 low volume

Can someone explain to me why the volumr is low in YM sep 18 futures contract on friday, it was okay on the other days of the week. Is it something im missing here? Edit sorry i post it on the wrong thread it should be on index futures forum, dont know how to correct it.

I think you are trading the wrong contract.

Actually im trying hold it longterm its the right contract. On ninjatrader on fridays the volume seems exceptionally low while on thursday, wednesday, thuesday and monday its seems okay. Its probabky something wrong with the ninjatraders datafeed.

It looks like volume actually increased on Friday.

Right now June is the front month contract so volume in Sept will be pretty low for the next 3-4 weeks until people start migrating away from June.

If you're planning on holding long term, it shouldn't matter much.
