Trade down? On clearly bullish news???

Whatever you guys are smoking, I want some!

Bullish news, that is a funny one. Retraction of an offer is almost always bearish. Yahoo is getting greedy.

Trade down for YHOO or MSFT?

It's not over yet. MSFT might go above the YHOO board and go directly to the shareholders OR as one report stated be prepared to pay $35.00. This will have downward pressure on MSFT, upward pressure for YHOO.

Get your facts straight. YHOO is rejecting the offer, MSFT is not retracting it.

I disagree with those who think YHOO trades down tomorrow. When a company says: "We're not interested in selling out, we want to remain independent."- That would be bearish.

YHOO's message was entirely different- The board is perfectly willing to sell out for the right price. Plus, if I'm not mistaken the news that MSFT had secretly bid $40/share for YHOO last year, came out for the very first time AFTER Friday's close.

We'll know soon enough who's right. I can't be 100% positive that it will be me.

yahoo is a great company, but thinking they are getting greedy asking for more, yahoo should be glad they got this bid from MSFT at $40B +++. The stock was already heading for the low teens by mid 2008 if MSFT didt step in to buy them. They should be thrilled with $44 billion.

It will trade in the $29.00 range with some downward pressure to $26.00 over the coming weeks in anticipation of a higher offer for YHOO.

agree....if msft steps away yahoo will easily trade back in the low to mid 20's over the next few weeks. Would be a seller here. Anyone who woke up and saw a 25-60% the day MSFT made that bid should be running to take profits.
