Black people need to understand that much of the racism that exists today has been amplified by the enormously large per capita crime rates in black community. What white people need to understand is that the crime rates in the black community have been exacerbated by centuries of oppression and lack of opportunity. It's a bit of a chicken or the egg problem. A lot of "shut up and listen" by the left and red herrings thrown out by the right, but not a lot of thoughtful solutions by either. The truth is it's complicated and nobody really has an answer. It's just easy to attack the other side and pretend you know what the answer is when that's the case.
