Yawn....... Israel attacked by Hamas

2nd Corinthians---> 4:18
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

More bible nonsense, try that at work or real life and see how long you last.
That's the fantastic thing about the black and white book, every fairy tale sounds beautiful.
"Have faith, it will come to pass". Yeah more nonsense.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, managed to maintain "warm communication" with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but now this has ended, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Source: WSJ

Details: Journalists remind that Netanyahu stood with Putin even when the latter was increasingly isolated. Even Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the warming of its relations with Israel's sworn rival, Iran, have failed to undermine this cooperation.

It is noted that the leaders kept in touch by phone, and Netanyahu announced a non-aligned approach to the war in Ukraine, refusing to provide Kyiv with lethal assistance or air defence systems despite Western pressure.

Quote: "Now, after the deadly attack by Iranian-backed Hamas militants on Israel, these conversations seem to have stopped.

Putin is one of the few world leaders who did not call Netanyahu to express his condolences over the deaths of more than 1,300 Israelis killed by Hamas in this attack."

This isn't a movie, there will be no Navy Seals HALO jumping into Gaza for a heroic rescue. A rescue mission isn't a priority. The Israelis are running the show. Does it look like they're preparing for a rescue mission? Would you be turning the place into rubble? Are you even listening to what they're saying? This is scorched earth, kill'em all and let Allah sort it out. Hamas doesn't care either. Every dead civilian, every dead kid, old lady, everyone is expendable for the cause. In fact their belief is that the dead are now released from their suffering and are now in the loving arms of Allah. Victory for these people isn't survival, it's dying while killing as many infidels as they can. Here's how this goes down. Israelis go in and the slaughter begins. They get hit from all sides in a big way. They cannot fight that off conventionally and can't wait while we dip our toes in the fight. The button gets pushed, nukes fly. Then we'll see who has what pointed at whom and who the global decision makers are willing to sacrifice while cutting a deal to "save humanity".

While many pundits expect the IDF to quickly start their ground offensive in Gaza; the reality IMO may be that it will be numerous days before it fully starts. It will take Israel some time to organize its plans, logistics, material, and troops to kick off the ground offensive.

While they warned residents of Gaza to leave the north and go south -- giving them 24 hours and pushing a sense of urgency -- in some ways this may be a deliberate ploy to get civilian residents out of the way sooner rather than later. It also allows Israel to intensify their air and artillery attacks aimed at Hamas in northern Gaza while hopefully reducing any civilians in the way.

Israel is continuing pin-prick localized commando raids aimed at getting back hostages, killing Hamas leaders and gathering intelligence. The air & artillery raids are focused on taking out rocket launching sites (which normally are in civilian buildings), killing Hamas leaders & members, reducing Hamas command & control sites, and eliminating obstacles to a ground assault.

I expect the ground assault to be slow and methodical -- taking many weeks even to seize north Gaza. It will be a difficult and bloody assault despite the IDF's technology advances due to the Hamas tunnel system and other defenses in Gaza. I don't see anyone "pushing a button" and this escalating into nuclear war.

The hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza are a real dilemma. As outlined in point number 4 above it appears that Israel is attempting localized raids to get hostages back -- however the only hostages they found are dead.

I expect international pressure is being brought by other countries who citizens are hostages but it appears that Israel is sticking to its policy of not negotiating for hostages.

Israel confirmed earlier today that 126 people are being held hostage. However a later report says 155 hostages (or families that have been informed). One hostage may lead to more than one family being informed possibly.

The hostage count today is up to 199 known hostages according to Israel. Yesterday Israel was rolling out the informing of families so the total kept increasing as the day went on.

Other recent news over the past 12 hours include:
  • The Rafah crossing into Egypt was expected to be open today at 9am local time to allow citizens of other countries trapped in Gaza to leave the area. It is not clear if this happened.
  • There is a desalination plant in Gaza which started full operation in June of 2023. It can provide water to 250,000 people and has local backup fuel & facilities to provide water for at least 30 days. It has not been bombed or hit by Israel. However it is out of operation probably due to lack of electricity. It is believe the backup fuel was likely stolen in corruption.
  • According to ABC News last night, the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank wants no part in administering Gaza (post Israel military action).

Russia played both Israel and Hamas: Here’s why Putin has picked the side of the terrorists
Putin's posturing over the war is meant to show him as an honest broker between the warring sides, something he isn't

Fox news opinion inserted into a serious matter. Putin playing both sides, shocker.

One has to wonder if GWB spends his days in the Fox comment section as well.
