Yawn....... Israel attacked by Hamas

This Washington Post article touches on poiunt number 8 -- What is the desired end game? and at what cost.

Israeli ground offensive in Gaza could be a ‘bloodbath,’ analysts say
As Gazans flee south, Israel’s military leadership plans a broad offensive. But experts in urban warfare caution that the terrain is troublesome and the endgame uncertain.

You don't say. This is all very informative, to ten year old.

Information on the journalists killed, injured, detained or missing in this war so far.

Journalist casualties in the Israel-Gaza conflict

CPJ is investigating all reports of journalists killed, injured, detained or missing in the war, including those hurt as hostilities spread to neighboring Lebanon. As of October 15, in the first nine days of fighting, at least 12 journalists were killed, two were missing and eight injured. In the same period, the conflict claimed more than 3,600 lives on both sides and resulted in many thousands of injuries.

This thread is titled "Yawn....... Israel attacked by Hamas".

This is hardly a "yawn" moment for Israel; this is their 9/11 equivalent. And their response will be vigorous.

We can endlessly debate the past decades of history in the Israel/Palestinian conflict which effectively will not really be enlightening but merely an effort to rehash the past and push blame.

What is of more interest is what will occur next over the upcoming weeks in this conflict. It does lead to many questions including:
  1. What are the next steps that Israel take for an incursion into Gaza? The current steps of using air power to target rocket launchers, ammo, and the headquarters/homes of Hamas leaders are obvious. The announced step of shutting off the borders and not allowing fuel, food, and electricity into Gaza -- effectively creating a siege is obvious. But what is next after this?
  2. At this point both Hamas and Hezbollah have announced that Iran provided the planning and support for this attack. What military force can Israel dedicate to Gaza operations and still have sufficient military force in the north to deal with a possible attack by Hezbollah?
  3. Netanyahu stated this would be a long war. Will Israel need to call up it's military reserves for this conflict?
  4. Israel generally has a policy of not negotiating for hostages. A good number of the hostages are citizens of other countries (many who do not hold Israeli dual citizenships). Under pressure from other countries will Israel open negotiations to get hostages back who are citizens of other nations plus possibly elderly and children? If not most of these hostages are as good as dead already.
  5. An armed excursion into Gaza will cause thousands of civilian casualties. What steps will Israel use to minimize these casualties besides telling Gaza residents to leave certain areas?
  6. Will Israel adopt a strategy at some point to shove all 2 million residents of Gaza over the border into Israel -- creating a huge refuge crisis?
  7. Iran is obviously behind the Hamas terrorist attack. Does Israel have plans to retaliate against Iran directly?
  8. What is Israel's desired end game over the next few weeks? Beyond retaliation and dead Hamas members.

The hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza are a real dilemma. As outlined in point number 4 above it appears that Israel is attempting localized raids to get hostages back -- however the only hostages they found are dead.

I expect international pressure is being brought by other countries who citizens are hostages but it appears that Israel is sticking to its policy of not negotiating for hostages.

Israel confirmed earlier today that 126 people are being held hostage. However a later report says 155 hostages (or families that have been informed). One hostage may lead to more than one family being informed possibly.

A well-spoken, clearly British trained by his accent surgeon explains their situation very succinctly.

Gaza doctor: We consume a month’s medical supplies a day

British Palestinian Surgeon, Prof Ghassan Abu-Sittah, describes the "overwhelming" numbers of wounded coming to Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital.

"Every five minutes, there's a new ambulance coming in," he says.

The other shoe is dropping, Tapper takes a Biden rep to task over Israel blowing up buildings based on "intelligence" when they knew nothing about the attack.

Hamas needs to be stopped in a way it won't just respawn but it won't be long before another Arab nation decides to treat this like the Berlin Blockade and it spills over.

The incompetent Bibi's crony packed government needs to be bypassed as they are driving off a cliff.

This isn't a movie, there will be no Navy Seals HALO jumping into Gaza for a heroic rescue. A rescue mission isn't a priority. The Israelis are running the show. Does it look like they're preparing for a rescue mission? Would you be turning the place into rubble? Are you even listening to what they're saying? This is scorched earth, kill'em all and let Allah sort it out. Hamas doesn't care either. Every dead civilian, every dead kid, old lady, everyone is expendable for the cause. In fact their belief is that the dead are now released from their suffering and are now in the loving arms of Allah. Victory for these people isn't survival, it's dying while killing as many infidels as they can. Here's how this goes down. Israelis go in and the slaughter begins. They get hit from all sides in a big way. They cannot fight that off conventionally and can't wait while we dip our toes in the fight. The button gets pushed, nukes fly. Then we'll see who has what pointed at whom and who the global decision makers are willing to sacrifice while cutting a deal to "save humanity".

Nobody beheaded children? Ok, lets address this.

In reality, I only know what I am told. That doesn't mean I can't think critically and sift through the bs. I do that all the time. In this particular case however, I am believing what dozens of reliable news outlets are claiming.

But, to your point... did I see it with my own two eyes? No. I wasn't there. That's a two way street however---- were you there? No. So who is right? What source do you have that says otherwise that is more credible than the many sources I have that say it did occur.

Now.... lets circle back to your beliefs on Christianity. Were you there when Jesus died on the cross? When he rose from the dead? Of course not. You are taking that on faith. You have absolutely zero factual evidence that these things occurred, aside from what you have been told and led to believe.

So your argument against everyone here saying none of these atrocities occurred holds no more water than someone saying the Bible is or is not a fallacy.

This is logic 101.... prove to me these atrocities didn't happen. I want proof. Merely saying the West is just kowtowing Israel's line isn't good enough. I want proof. You can't provide that, just as I can't provide proof it did happen... other than the word of reporters that are there.

So case closed on that.

NEXT POINT:

All your blah blah blah blah.....

I will give you a fact... as yet unproven.... but mark my word.... I'll be right.

What I said.... that Hezbollah has over 100,000 rockets of pretty decent tech... if they join in to help Hamas.... they won't need to worry about Israel fighting back. They'll be destroyed in a matter of hours courtesy of my beloved U.S. military industrial complex.

I think your wrong on this my friend. We won't act that quickly, but Israel will. Hezbollah is ready to roll, so is Iran. Israel is about to be fighting a very large enemy coming from all sides. They can't win that battle. Someone has to fry and that someone is Iran which is the ultimate target in all of this. Will they take the bait? So far that's how it's shaping up. Going to take some cooler heads to tap this one down and I don't hear anyone with a weapon talking about being cool.

Naaaa.
Hezbollah has 150K rockets with the ability to hit Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.... they unleash those.... and the Hornet drivers go full blown "this is what we trained for boys and girls."
