there are civilians lying dead in the road and videos of HAMAS in pick up trucks driving down the street firing weapons.... are you being obtuse on purpose or pretending TV doesnt exist...just like there are videos of Palestinians dead in the rubble of bombed houses there is video of dead israelis...

Are you saying Hamas never entered into the area or killed anyone, they just went out for a drive in the countryside?

This thread is titled "Yawn....... Israel attacked by Hamas".

This is hardly a "yawn" moment for Israel; this is their 9/11 equivalent. And their response will be vigorous.

We can endlessly debate the past decades of history in the Israel/Palestinian conflict which effectively will not really be enlightening but merely an effort to rehash the past and push blame.

What is of more interest is what will occur next over the upcoming weeks in this conflict. It does lead to many questions including:
  1. What are the next steps that Israel take for an incursion into Gaza? The current steps of using air power to target rocket launchers, ammo, and the headquarters/homes of Hamas leaders are obvious. The announced step of shutting off the borders and not allowing fuel, food, and electricity into Gaza -- effectively creating a siege is obvious. But what is next after this?
  2. At this point both Hamas and Hezbollah have announced that Iran provided the planning and support for this attack. What military force can Israel dedicate to Gaza operations and still have sufficient military force in the north to deal with a possible attack by Hezbollah?
  3. Netanyahu stated this would be a long war. Will Israel need to call up it's military reserves for this conflict?
  4. Israel generally has a policy of not negotiating for hostages. A good number of the hostages are citizens of other countries (many who do not hold Israeli dual citizenships). Under pressure from other countries will Israel open negotiations to get hostages back who are citizens of other nations plus possibly elderly and children? If not most of these hostages are as good as dead already.
  5. An armed excursion into Gaza will cause thousands of civilian casualties. What steps will Israel use to minimize these casualties besides telling Gaza residents to leave certain areas?
  6. Will Israel adopt a strategy at some point to shove all 2 million residents of Gaza over the border into Israel -- creating a huge refuge crisis?
  7. Iran is obviously behind the Hamas terrorist attack. Does Israel have plans to retaliate against Iran directly?
  8. What is Israel's desired end game over the next few weeks? Beyond retaliation and dead Hamas members.

The entire situation progresses. In regards to point number 5 above about steps Israel will take to avoid civilians casualties -- there are currently three way talks (U.S. / Egypt / Israel) in place regarding establishing a evacuation corridor from Gaza to Egypt for civilians.

However this spills over into point number 6 - Will Israel adopt a strategy at some point to shove all 2 million residents of Gaza over the border into Israel -- creating a huge refuge crisis? Allowing a evacuation corridor will likely set the table for large numbers of refugees fleeing to Egypt. In the negotiations regarding this corridor, Egypt likely wants international support and money for handling all of these refugees.

Israel likely just wants these civilians out of Gaza -- to reduce civilian casualties and likely to force them to not come back (Remember the "Right of Return" issue). This opens the door to Israel forcing out the population of Gaza and taking it over (after they eliminate all of Hamas).

All of this gets back to point number 8 -- what is desired end game for Israel? Based on statements from the Israeli government -- the end game appears to be the total elimination of Hamas leadership, total disarming of all Hamas militants, and no longer allowing Hamas to govern Gaza.

Isis has filmed it. And not a single Israeli had the guts to film even parts, even seconds? Seems Stange.

you want Hamas to film their every action? I'm not one to believe the IDF but it's not like beheading children is above these savages either. In any case, I hear shapiro's twitter is lit. I can't bother browsing that site anymore since Elmo got rid of chronology

Where are those 100 dead Festival attendees? I have in fact not seen ONE single dead body placed at such festival. We believe stories nowadays and risk starting a world war based on "eyewitness accounts"? There are some dudes on TV who claim whatever. Then some objects covered by tarps.

Was the haulocaust claims of 5 or 6 mil Jews also based on hearsay? I doubt it.

whatever the ethical difference, it seems arbitrary for Americans to clutch pearls over Israel and Palestinian relations as though there is some magical right to the land based on the Bible or a made up political designation. Did Israelis move in all of a suddent after NEVER being there and displace Palestinians, most of whom have ancestors in neighboring countries and have little ties ot the land to begin with...Is any Israeli able to link themselves to a biblical figure that proves it was their land for all times? Arabs and Jews were fighting in that crescent long before Britian's colonial borders.

Americans have selective memory but suddenly seem to be experts on Palestinians v. Israelis.....First of all Israeli is not a religion...there are Jewish, Christian and Muslim Israelis. Second of all Hamas is a political terrorist group, they are not the "country" of Palestine. Hamas wants ALL Israelis killed and wiped off the face of the earth, not the Palestinians...Hamas wants that.

People in the U.S. are too quick to label all Palestinians Hamas or all Israelis human right anti arab violators. These same social media warriors would show their true colors if Native Americans started bombing casinos and killing Americans outside of reservations.

There is nothing that justifies Hamas terrorists driving into a music festival and killing over 100 men women and children civilians even if we can make a laundry list of the horrible conditions Israel created for Gaza citizens.

There should be no gloating over what is happening right now. And the U.S. certainly will back Israel no matter what simply because it is politically convenient to do so.

There are multiple videos all over the internet of all the dead bodies at the Festival site.

Respected mainstream reporters -- including ones from Al Jazeera -- have also visited the music festival site and confirmed the reports of large numbers of dead bodies.

I don't watch tv, I don't even have a tv for over 2 decades now. Care to point me to a video clip on YouTube or elsewhere that depicts what you described?

Yeah, getting them all out to "keep 'en safe". Isn't that what Israel has been doing for 56 years already? Occupying foreign land and stealing and lying about it. Getting all civilians out probably to annex the entire gaza and built more bullshit kibuz.

An easy search of YouTube will find hundreds of clips from reporter including those from Al Jazeera. Others filmed by private people showing the bodies can be found on everywhere from Telegram to Twitter to other sites. At this point the evidence is obvious and undeniable.
