All my life growing up it was the same with Gerry Adams and Sinn Fein / IRA. Interviews always started and often ended with 'do you condemn?'
It was an easy easy way to block any intelligent discussion. I'm dismayed that after all these years the rhetoric is still being hacked through like thick jungle which the guy was allowed to do this time. The British government by law restricted any interviews with Gerry Adams to recorded with an actor's voice repeating his words.
I grew up Irish Catholic (+Mom) and I hated the IRA and all the other TLAs (UK government backed three letter army militias) not because either side was without a valid perspective but because of the
kind of men they were. Intelligent enough to understand how to speak politically however lacking morality.
Gerry Adams a narcissist, Ian Paisley a narcissist. I didn't have that word back then. Sometimes, just sometimes, a man who seemed a little bit decent would get the mic as it were but it never lasted too long. The people operating with lower intelligence or just greater fear being all OK, they are cunts but you can't argue they get results (results they caused) and me reading more science fiction than history, dreaming I was part of an intelligent future where all this was behind us.
Things never went anywhere after an atrocity, they just went on and on and on..
Last night I noticed an acquaintance on FB saying how anxious he felt flying through New York and he wanted to see a beefed up security presence (I suggested he ask for somebody to hold his hand as an emotional support).. Today Trump is back on the travel ban.
At least I'm off to Europe and then the Ukraine border where people have their heads screwed on and cope with it through dark humour as we all should.
Off to pickup some fast food as its too late to make lunch now
