Yahoo's sale

Should have not elected a woman CEO in tech industry in the first place...they don't know anything, it's not their thing...have a look at all successful IT entrepreneurs or CEO, they're all guys.

What we can learn from Yahoo's case...when a woman CEO is elected in IT, short sell their shares.

Should buy Yahoo share before the takeover because their share price will rise.

Can someone explain why such companies like Verizon or AT&T might want to buy Yahoo? Is there any connection between these businesses?
Isn't that obvious? there is a rising competition between Google and Verizon. Thus, Verizon is trying to overcome the threat by buying Yahoo which used to dominate Internet sector (but has given its lead to Google and others, thanks to Mayer).

Verizon owns AOL, which if combined with Yahoo's core business can be a source for significant ad revenues (or so they hope).

Oh give me a break...they are not trying to buy Yahoo for 4bn for such a simple reason...their CEO isn't dump like the idiot Yahoo CEO.

It's finally here. Yahoo's internet search business will likely be sold to either Verizon or AT&T.

Personally I think Mayer was a politically correct hire who was never right for the job. Her horrendous deal with Mozilla will plague the buyer.

Another once-great internet business bites the dust. Apple and Tesla will soon follow.

Discuss.

I like this thread but I don't agree with your opinion on Apple because their products are too good and superior to its current competitors'.

Good riddance of that ceo even though I didn't care if she was female or not.
The stupid ad articles populated on the front pages of yahoo or yahoo finance were mostly from scams. Now a least there are some legit news links again.

yeah, but how YHOO is going to overcome the threat? The company is crumbling.

Making it possible for the shareholders to sue the CEO for incompetence might sharpen them up a bit ?
Coming to think of it perhaps being able to sue the clowns who appointed such duds too would make them take their jobs more seriously. Why should Mayer just fade off into some other top job and do it again. Oh no, make her pay for the mess she has made imho.
