XFL is coming back... maybe - NFL screwed up large

The original XFL was pretty good fun. Who can forget "He Hate Me?"
The standard of play in the NFL is so low now that a new league with fresh faces could make a mark. Don't forget that most of the NFL's most marketable stars are getting close to retirement age, eg Brady, Brees, Big Ben, Rivers.
It's tough to miss the comparison between full college stadiums and half empty NFL ones as well.

No football league is going to target fringe or uninterested "fans" like you and be successful. The NFL is just one of many market leaders that attract posters on here predicting their demise based on flawed reasons. Check out how many wrote off AAPL or Toronto real estate on here at various points. The real fans couldn't care less about your politics or whether you watch. The world goes on and the majority of forecasts and debates on here are proven pointless in 5 years and in some cases totally wrong.
In 5 years the NFL will still thrive and no other league will be serious competition to them. If need be, they'll move teams out of difficult markets and sell them for huge dollars to new markets, enriching the league and other owners in healthy markets. You can watch the new league and get your "fun and patriotism". If it even gets off the ground. Maybe ask Trump how well his USFL experience worked out.
I'd be interested in a league where everyone knew what a catch was. It wouldn't hurt if they at least made an attempt not to rub my nose in their insufferable political correctness.
This Jerry Richardson thing in Carolina is a perfect example of how incompetent the league's leaders are. This fool Goodell cannot tell the difference in some black thug knocking his girl friend cold in a casino elevator and an 81 year old owner who had a distinguished playing career, made a lot of money after retiring from the league and then started a new franchise, which has been pretty much a model operation. Oh and he commented on a few women's butts, the horror, send in the investigators and try to tarnish everything he has done.

It was not about me.
it was about those who are like me. And some of those people were real fans. The chargers have alienated at least a few million pissed off San Diegans.
Are you 100 positive Dean Spanos' move to share a stadium in L.A. is a smart move?
Can 2 L.A. teams really create more TV revenue in the long term than an L.A. team and a San Diego team?
I am not predicted the XFL will work. But it could.
I would expect the NFL to recover some of its fans.
But, some fans will never be back unless the games get fewer commercials.
Instead of just asking Trump how about asking the owners of the niners, patriots, the bills, the broncos, the oilers, the chiefs, the jets and the raiders if starting non NFL leagues is a good idea? (its possible I left out a team or 2 or put in an original nfl team. )

Now you are contradicting your thesis that the NFL is rapidly losing popularity. Why would San Diego fans be upset about losing a team unless they are solid interested local fans of the NFL ? You are actually supporting my point that the NFL is a strong league with several other cities, including Toronto, that would want a team. Toronto is a far stronger sports market then San Diego or Charlotte. But we have you and another poster on here pushing your personal politics with the empty threat that your communities will reject the NFL because of the player protests. Good luck with that; as a sports market neither is important.
10 years from now the NFL will still be highly profitable and relevant. The player protests won't cost them any long term interest at all because for every person that rejects the protests there are at least as many people who support the protests.
When The Panthers sell for the highest price of a US sports team ever jem and his pals will still be arguing The NFL is doomed.
