Quote from Dogfish:
I've been using TT Xtrader for about 7 years trading at professional prop outfits but don't feel they are as far ahead of other systems as they used to be. I use cqg for my charting and TT for execution.
Some questions
1.Can you format CQG trader to look and behave like TT
If you already have CQG for charting for a bit of additional money you can trade off of your CQG as well. DomTrader in CQG Integrated Client can be configured to your liking. Many ex-TT users were able to match the features and look-and-feel of CQG to match their expectations.
2.Are you limited to 4 screens of execution and charts as I use 4 TT screens alone.
CQG can run on up to 8 monitors. You can configure charts and trading windows the way you like among the monitors.
3. Is execution on the downclick or upclick of the mouse button? ECCO has this issue with the TT patent.
All of the orders are being sent on the downclick.
4. Is there right click trading available with a different order quantity set to that of left click?
Yes, there is. You can configure two alternate quantities to be sent on the left click and the middle button click. Right click is reserved for fast order cancel.
5. Does your average position highlight on the DOM?
Yes, you can highlight your position entry price on the price latter.
6. Is there a "tradeout" button which will find market like TT
Not sure what tradeout button does, there is a one step position liquidation function available everywhere position is displayed.
7. Has anyone had experience scalping futures on each system at a professional outfit? ie not web or vpn
Yes, lots of shops in Chi, London and Connecticut trade from CQG Integrated Client.
Another benefit you will get with CQG is ability to link your charts and your orders. You can graphically display your orders' and your fills on your charts. You also can trigger your orders from your alerts and conditions for semi automated trading. And you can place orders that fill follow your studies (stop order that follow bollinger bands values as an example).
PM me if you have any additional question about CQG's trading platform.
