Wynn casino policy changes at work

jrlvnv, sorry I had to tell you like it is and I probably came out harsh. But you posted your question on the wrong forum in the wrong place on the internet. You are asking people to feel sorry for you because you are going to be making 65K a year instead your usual 95K a year on your job. These are daytraders on this forum. Some of us LOSE that much money in a year and you are asking for us to feel sorry for you because you "only" make that much money. You aren't making sense.

You would get more sympathy from people if you posted on a forum that specializes in casino dealers. This forum is a daytrading forum. These people don't live in the same town as you and most of them have no clue what you are talking about. They don't understand. There are some doctors and lawyers who have college degree's that don't make your salary of 95K a year. Not even close to the amount of money you are making. And they also have to buy their own lunch. You get your's for free.

It isn't easy finding a 95K a year job. And you are on here bragging to everybody about your high paying job that gives you free insurance and 3 free meals a day.

I didn't mean to sound so harsh. But this is the wrong forum to complain about your 95K a year job. Some of these daytraders on here are happy if they make just $100.00 a day. And you are on here complaining about 95K a year. You want more.

If I were Steve Wynn or one of your bosses, I would FIRE you for acting like a retard and complaining all the time. Your actions on this forum are showing everybody why Steve Wynn is changing the rules to get rid of dealers like you. You don't do nothing anyways but complain about money on your day off and hustle nice customers for tips when you are there. Listen to yourself on this thread. You sound like a GREEDY casino dealer. Just pathetic.

It wouldn't surprise me if Steve Wynn makes all his casino's non-tipping casino's. He almost made his Treasure Island casino a non-tipping casino a few years back. He was going to pay all his tipped employee's a flat salary of 50K a year or something like $30.00 an hour. Dealers, bartenders, waitresses(food, cocktail), maids, etc...There are plenty of food waitresses that work at Denny's that would love to make a flat 50K a year and not have to worry about tips. Same with dealers. Lots of dealers in low paying dealer jobs at some casino's that would love to make 50K a year and not stress out weather they are going to get tipped or not. A non-tipping casino would make a much happier gambling environment for both the dealers and customers. Dealers would be more friendly to customers because they won't be expecting a tip and customers would no have to worry about bad dealers like you harrassing them because you were rude to them at the table and that is why you were not tipped. TIP means To Insure Proper Service. You have to serve me and deal to me weather I tip you or not. I don't have to tip you. I can go to any dealer table and play, but you HAVE to deal to me weather you like it or not. You don't deserve a tip.

I don't think that dealers should get tipped. I think all the casino's should be non-tipping. People should be able to go into a casino and enjoy themselves and not be harrassed for tips from dealers like you.

If you were my dealer, I would stiff you and not tip you just because of the way you present yourself by complaining about money on this forum. You are greedy and you don't deserve a tip. You have to deal your cards to me and I don't have to tip you. If you refuse to deal your cards to me, then you get FIRED. If you are unhappy with your job, then quit. I don't think you will be employed there very much longer anyways. If you complain on your job the way you are complaining on this forum, then you won't be there long.

You made a lot of general comments about me without even knowing me. You have never talked to me or even seen me work but you assume the worst when it comes to me. First off it isn't just me that is complaining, it is me and 600 other people but I am the only one here. I came here because I know there are very smart people here who might be able to lend some advise but all that I found for the most part were people who are jealous of either what I do or what I make. I believe that most of the people here are frustrated with there jobs and there lives and find it hard to believe that I make what I do. Also we don't hustle for tips and we would be fired if one person claimed they were hustled. People give us that money because they are having a good time and like who we are. Like you said in your other post I guess I came to the wrong place looking for advise.

A non tipping casino won't work because there overhead would be too much and it doesn't make much business sense either. Why pay someone 50-60k a year when we can pay them 18k a year.

As per you tipping me.... I can care less..... I still go up on the floor with a smile on my face and treat everyone the same. I let people know the best ways to play there hands and make sure they have all there regular bets. I do that whether you are tipping me or not. The only difference would be I say thank you to the person when I receive the tip. As for the people that replied here.... I might not be a good trader but at least I can learn it while most of you here have no chance of doing what I do simply because you have such a bitter attitude and zero personality...... you wouldn't cut it.
 
I think you are in a situation that is unfair, sue if you can. But remember what someone said before, you better be able to get back in there and work for them, and pretend like nothing happened because if not they will black list you, and you may never be able to get another job as a dealer. Your best option is to team up as a union, this way no one is singled out and then have the union file all the suits.

I did valet, it was probably the easiest job in the world. But they made you share the tips with all valet drivers and the ramp supervisor (the guy you give the car to in the beginning). My policy on tipping is, the person that does the job should get the tip. I think its BS if someone gets a tip for something they did not do.

Did you know that when you go to valet, the guy that takes your car and gives you your ticket, basically just pockets that money. The guy who parks your car is me, the valet driver. So by you giving that guy a tip it does not help your car in any way (people usually do it so that the valet driver will be extra careful with their car, but we don't see a dime and we treat it like any other car). The only way to help your car is to tip $20+ depending on where you are, this way you can park it up font or in visible view of everyone. Splitting tips hurts everyone, why work harder to please the guest when you know your money is going somewhere else, or you are a supervisor, and know your going to get tipped anyways no matter if you do a good job or not. The person who does the job should get the tip.

Biggest tip: $100, Why? I saved a guys S600 from crashing, he left it in neutral, and thought that he was on flat ground, it slowly drifted away until i jumped in and saved it. He gave me $20 every time I brought his car up for that weeks stay.
 
Well our court case was dismissed. The judge said it had merit but he decided to dismiss it. Didn't make a lot of sence to me but that is the decision of the judge. We held 2 protests outside of the Wynn hotel which didn't go very well either. As wynn dealers we weren't allowed to attend but many people from other properties showed up.

Wynn is claiming that the tips are his properties so this is how he is able to do it. We are planning on taking this to the Supreme court since this could affect all tipped employees. Can you imagine that if you tip the Starbucks person that the owner can take that tip and do what ever he wishes? That is what Wynn is doing. Anyway I just did receive some good news from the National Labor Review Board. I will copy and paste the email I just read..... I have deleted the names that were used in the email. Thanks for letting me vent and discuss myself here. Most people have replied in a negative way but I still do feel better putting my thoughts and ideas down.

I do have good news! C and I heard back from the N.L.R.B. today. And their investigation is complete, they (N.L.R.B.) have spoken to "people" about what happened in the October 30,2006 meeting with Steve Wynn. (The meeting where Steve Wynn was very hostile and threatened employees with termination and reduction in pay if us "wynn dealers" were to go union).



Well, the N.L.R.B. has found merit to C ,(along with the two other Wynn dealers) complaint that this indeed happened. The N.L.R.B. is moving forward with this truthful complaint against Steve Wynn, and Wynn has until January11,2007 to respond. A hearing has been set for February1,2007.


I’m pretty sure that this is how the N.L.R.B process goes (anyone can correct this). If an employee goes to the N.L.R.B. files a complaint and say that they (or others), were threatened with termination and reduction in pay because of their union activities or involvement,the N.L.R.B. does an investigation and if they (N.L.R.B.) finds merit to the employees case, the N.L.R.B. will then file a complaint against the employer or company and a hearing may take place. So all of this is a process.

This is all of the info that I have as of now. I will keep you informed with anything else that I hear about the case.

Meanwhile I would like to THANK all of the "Wynn Dealers" that were in that meeting on October 30th, who came forward and told the truth about what happened in the meeting. (you know who you are). Thanks alot.

I don't think Steve Wynn is sueing. The attorney's are. The article says that Wynn's attorneys are sueing the losing party for attorney fee's - the amount of money it cost the attorney's to get the case dismissed. Wynn isn't doing it himself.

It is very common in all court cases where the losing party has to pay the winning parties attorney court cost's and attorney fee's.

This should come as a eye opener, that all people should think twice about trying to sue somebody. Because if you lose, then you can be sued for the cost of attorney fee's because the defendent had to hire a lawyer to get his case dismissed(in this case the defendent was Wynn). Attorney's charge $200.00 an hour these days. So those charges can add up. I've seen cases that cost hundred's of thousands of dollars. Yes, $200,000.00 just because they tried to sue somebody and lost. They had to pay it back also. In the end, the only one that benefit's from these types of cases are the lawyers. Lawsuits take alot out of people mentally, physically, and financially. :(
