WTF is wrong with this site loading sometimes

Its slow as hell. It happens often and I know its not my connection because other sites load just fine.

The ET site has been bogged down by something. Virus on the server? Started observing it last night Dec 2, 2010. If this continues, I think viewership will drop quickly.

I'd start with the tread started 12/02 with over 1 mil hits already as a possible source of the problem

I noticed this on the night of December 2. It was unbelievably slow as if it were under a DOS attack.

You eliminated the thread with the HUMONGOUS number of thread views, which was obviously some abnormality. What was causing those inflated numbers and how could an outsider have affected the software for this forum?
