WTF? CNN Warns America: You Are About To Hear The NATIONAL ANTHEM

CNN, which bills itself as “The Most Trusted Name in News,” sure knows how to put a weird damper on a perfectly heartwarming, patriotic and downright tearjerker story during the week of Veterans Day.

The video story is entitled “Sailor mom surprises daughter at school.” It first appeared on CNN on Thursday — on loan from an Indianapolis Fox affiliate.

Prior to CNN’s presentation of the video (just after the mandatory commercial), a warning message appeared for several seconds in bold font atop a two-tone black background.

“Please be advised you are about to hear an excerpt of the national anthem,” the warning declared.

Got that? Brace yourselves, America, because a snippet of the song expressing America’s patriotic soul is about to hit your tender ears.

The video itself includes kids singing and waving American flags. There are old, proud veterans. There are hand over hearts. At the end, there are well-deserved tears. You’ll probably blubber right along with mother and daughter — though CNN provides no crying warning.

The warning was the result of a mistake by an employee, a CNN spokesman told The Daily Caller. It stemmed from the employee’s unfortunate interpretation of a company policy which, respectfully, only allows “The Star-Spangled Banner” to be played in its glorious entirety.

Thus, the warning wasn’t about the substance of the national anthem. It was about the fact that the video contained only part of the song.

“The graphic was included in error and has been removed,” the CNN spokesman said. “The video remains on the site.”

Less than two hours after TheDC contacted CNN, the pre-video warning message about the national anthem snippet had disappeared.

How else to feed the outrage monster?
I suppose, but why does it need feeding already? Reps just took the Senate and added seats in the House. They should be happy, we're supposed to be upset, "on edge". Yet it's just the opposite. They're still raging and, I don't know about you, I'm in a good mood.

(Though the fact I do not have to plow a half kilometer of driveway this weekend, and I saw a 3x3 buck and two does in the yard this morning, could be helping me. : ))

They're wired that way. Without something to be outraged about, they might actually have to produce something.

The last time Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the presidency, we got, hmmm, well, okay, lets see, we got the worst terrorist attack in history followed by two wars, one of which turned out to be under false pretexts but what the heck, right? So long as we’re bombing brown people, it’s all good. And hey, it wasn’t all for nothing, we got the Great Recession sparked by the mortgage industry collapse followed by a complete implosion of the investment banking industry which led to record high unemployment rates. So, then Republicans cut taxes and borrowed a couple trillion from China and deferred the payments to the next administration and America went from a budget surplus to the biggest debt increase since Reagan. The good news, of course, was that recession and war had almost no effect whatsoever on the rich and they grew enormously more wealthy from their failed business ventures while either blowing up our jobs or shipping them to India. And that’s the real difference between the Great Depression and the Great Recession: In a depression the rich take to jumping out windows and swallowing bullets, in a recession they just get richer while the rest of us lose our homes and livelihoods. more . . .

Let's see... the last time the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and the presidency, we got, hmmm, okay, let's see, we got the worst sneak attack in history followed by our largest and most expensive war, which turned out to be under questionable pretexts considering U.S. policy prior the war, but what the heck, right? As long as we are bombing foreigners across the Pacific or Atlantic, its all good, eh? And hey, it was not all for nothing, entering the war finally ended that pesky Great Depression that dragged on and on due to failed government policy. Of course, the government did nothing to protect citizens while bank after bank collapsed in the severe depression - leading to the highest unemployment rate in American history.
