It always had a small element of PnD...someone would post some good DD and others would get on board etc...but it was mainly about high risk options gambling. gain porn, mostly loss porn, trash talk, great place to go for a laugh.

these days I am absolutely convinced that whales have caught on as to how easy the new crowd is to manipulate...they simply send shills to pump whatever they need to offload and the apes are more than willing to buy whatever they are told to. Random ticker starts getting tossed around, DD posted, pumps for a day or two then drops forever.

With the failure rate of traders i was hoping the apes would start to go away but then remembered these fucks are really going to hold their 1 or 2 GME till it hits $1m/sh.

RIP to what was at one time a true gem of the trading community.

You have described Wall Street exactly. The old boys crowd that rules Wall Street will always work to strip the public of any advantages they may have accrued over time, which seriously threatens their revenue. A recent example is payment for order flow. It has been a win win through price improvement for both the public trader and innovative new financial firms. Cleverly old line firms and market makers have convinced some public traders that they are being ripped off by payment for order flow in spite of all evidence to the contrary.

The crazy bull market we have had especially since march last year. Meant there was more follow through on the pumps.

The general sideways action over the last three to six months means there has been less follow through on the pumps.

Pump and dump exist in all kinds of markets and are in their own sector. I am not not sure there are less follow through in a side ways market. Maybe there is more as speculators are involved in a fewer number of stocks. The again maybe there are more pump and dump as traders look for speculation.

That is ok. Somebody else spent or save the money. It is a lot better and more democratic than the government and its bureaucracy targeting a favored group.
