wow Apple to replace att in the dow 30, a little too late for that!

The only people that can afford the Gold Watch are the people that invested in Apple a long time ago.

Ahah who would pay for an Apple Gold watch with quartz movement when you could get a luxury swiss watch (Jaeger Lecoultre for example...) for the same price ?

They are betting mega rich apple fan boys will.

But it will be out of date this time next year and worth bugger all.

Let me check the price : is this watch a $10k watch?
Or I did not read the price right?
If so, that's what you get at auctions for old "luxury" watches.
So what is special there?

Upto 13k for the top gold version, same tech a the 350 version.

I doubt a iwatch will hold any value unlike those watches, hope the battery is replaceable or in a few years just a lump of gold.

old Rolex are actually "collection" watches.

Doubt a iwatch will ever be a collectable item but apple fan boys, who knows.

Go and check for yourself : go to some auctions and check how high old Rolex watches go up.
Not the new one, just the old one are seen as "collection" because of something about
the way the mechanics of these watch work.

Not doubting that, computer stuff generally doesn't become collectable but we shall see.

It's called Movement. You can get the same movement in less famous brand watches. Additionally, the Swiss masters taught the Russians who created copycat movements for their own brands. Regardless of what you buy, you have to get watch winders which simulates your wrist movement 24/7 to keep the watch in tiptop shape. Can you imagine people with at least with a 20,30 or more watch collection? Crazy world.

Without that infrastructure overhead, AAPL watch is too mundane. The most prized collectibles usually have a moonphase dial.
