Some people have no clue about the history of the US. The Department of the Army and the Department of the Navy were kept separate precisely to prevent a military coup. Any head of one branch of the military has to convince all the other heads of military branches to join him in a coup. Good luck with that fairytale. :p

It will take some 32 years for USA to pay off their national debt of $12 Trillion if USA pays off $1 billion per day.

Politicians are too weak and useless. They have failed USA. Now USA army should takeover USA administration.

I've lived in a country under military rule. And believe me, you don't want to even think about it.

Whoa... I swear I was writing that and didn't see what u wrote. I guess that is everyone's line not to be crossed.

I sure hope so. However Americans are far too uneducated and comfortable.

History had "Hitlers Brownshirts" in power very rapidly.

I hope and pray that Americans challenge the idea and balk at the inception ...

It will be portrayed in the best interest of "National Security."

Rahm Emanuels "The Plan" ... might be pushed ... or strategically implemented as "taken Advantage of" and it might actually be made to work by creating growth in employ and GDP.

"No one seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it.
Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a
dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes
the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship."

I voted yes but I was under the impression that this is theoretically, not as in right now. Seriously though Obama has spoken of a civilian security force "just as well armed, and just as well funded as the military". That scenario = revolution for me. The Constitution addresses the National Guard, there is only one reason why anyone would want a civilian security force.

I was shocked this idea didn't generate more controversy. It is right out of the hugo chavez playbook.

The police fits the definition of a civilian security force

Unconstitutional and potentially deadly.

Well said. Mostly.
Except for the part of the revolution.

Remember the colonies had a
revolution against the British Empire.
