Would you rather trade on your own making 100k yr or trade for a firm making 500k yr

Quote from Spooz Top:

if sucking ass & being spoken down to is acceptable behavior to you,i feel sorry for you.i don`t know where your level of pride stands but i`ve never taken unnecassary shit from an employer in my life & never will for any reason.i`ve never respected an ass kisser in my life.....if anything, i was shown more respect by employers/peers because i took the opposite stance.

we`re not discussing living in a third world country so we`re not talking about hardship here......more to the point, this is about a man that has options & where his sellout point lies.

there is no right or wrong anyway, it all comes down to a personal preference. You might be happy with $100k a year, not having a boss, a possible envy for a guy that just bought a brand new Ferrari using his fat yearly bonus and of course/perhaps vice versa.

a ferrari vs. freedom..........................you just answered your own question..............i choose freedom,i`m the one to be envied.

his sellout point was a ferrari....................i`m happy with my 3.25i.,no ceiling on my income & the most precious asset of all, freedom!

When you live in a materialistic world, there is no such thing as freedom. Free of a boss does not constitute freedom, you will always be dependant on making that $100k per year to continue enjoying your "freedom".

the true entrepeneur seeks his own path....the one less traveled & the one with most resistance........NOT the path of least resitance & not relying on the corporate paycheck to get him by.....being at the mercy of corporate america.

Spooz,I mean this with no disrespect in any way,but unless you are exceedingly talented at your craft, one will NEVER make the big bucks on Wall street with that attitude...

Especially at Goldman

you`re missing the point............who says it HAS to be 100K?
& even if it is....so be it.

you`re relying solely on your individual talent....not a paycheck from a firm..................& yes,i certainly will enjoy!

I like being my own boss, but I will swap the original poster's $100k per year for $1m per year for a couple of years. That's equivalent to 20 years of freedom trading :) Maybe you just hate the thought of having to answer to someone else. Basically, if you were offered now $1m for 1 years work you would turn it down because of freedom issues?

the only "issues" i see hear is your lack of confidence in your self.
