The guy who said it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into Heaven?
Who threw the money changers out of the temple?

Obviously a Democrat.

The one who said "Go nowhere among the Gentiles, and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."? The Jewish nationalist?

A Netanyahu type guy, obviously a Republican.

And so on. You could do this all day long.
 
I lean towards liberal. "Render unto ceasar what is ceasars" etc... "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", obviously very dovish on enforcing laws based on religious belief.

That is, of course, if we take the gospels account as accurate, which were of course written hundreds of years after Christ's death.
 
Jesus would most certainly be libertarian and conservative.

Liberals would hate him for daring to have an opinion on morals and for being fabulously wealthy (Well his father does both own and run the entire universe), and we know how much liberals hate rich people.

He would probably abhor and chastise creepy goober-mint officials for taxing the (rap out of people, which is being done supposedly in his name and then spent to buy more votes with OPM.
 
Jesus would be a conservative, and if any of those thieving liberals set foot on his porperty trying to raise his taxes he would mow them down with his M16. :D
 
God is without doubt a conservative. Reference survival of the fittest.

Jesus was a liberal. Reference sermon on the mount.

Consequently, when Jesus chased the money changers (God's buddies) from the temple, God couldn't take it any more and had him crucified and then said out loud, "You ungrateful little bastard".:D
 
It was THE theology lesson.

You... have to understand the context... the rich man said he was keeping all the commandments and doing what he was supposed to do....

Jesus said - if thou wilt be perfect ( a requirement to be with God) sell your stuff.

Therefore --- since no one can be perfect... so you need someone or something God will accept as a substitute or atonement for your sins.

That passage is the Good news and yet you never see people put it in context. I wonder why?

That to me is not a liberal or socialist message.
 
The response was to the post in which the eye of the needle quote was used to say Jesus might be a liberal.

Note, imho he may have been like a liberal when they believed in small govt and big liberty.

But how could he be either - government is mans substitute for a truly just system.
