Worst wall street movie ever?

Legitimate films? WS2, Margin Call. No detail on WS2 as it was too insipid to discuss. Margin Call... you wake up one day and one fucking guy realizes there's a prob with Li's copula! Carry over the 2.... oh shit. Sell the certificates! The story was laughable, but the cast was fantastic. They could've done so much with a real script. Paul Bettany was excellent. I love the scene where everything is going to shit at 2am and he's asking why there are so many onions or sprouts in his Chinese. The dialogue unrelated (to the impending crash) was the only dialogue worth hearing. The aforementioned; the rooftop discussion of his spending habits, etc.

I like Margin Call. The model deficiency was just a plot device. It wasn't the point of the movie.

The characters were brilliant - and (at least on the sellside) pretty accurate. I could put a real life individual in each of those characters and the fit was almost perfect.

On top of that it showed how multi-dimensional everyone was.
The one guy talks about blowing 2MM on hookers and clothes but you see his loyalty to his boss. His boss is a hard nosed desk head but has compassion for his dog. Gossip Girl guy was a junior with stars in his eyes about the industry and then saw the dirty side. There's the political division head. And the brilliant junior guy who will make his career on this one analysis (how many MD's were made on one trade in 2008? I know several).

The only stupid character was Jeremy Irons... too much overacting.

I like boiler room...

" if your not selling them on yes, they are selling you on no! Someone is always getting sold!

Exactly. Excellent acting and dialogues. The whole thing probably happened at LTCM just not in 1 day....

They make these movies for average people, making it technically correct would be boring and unwatchable... Just ask a cop about procedural shows or a doctor about ER dramas and see how many inaccuracies are there...

Now the positive news, Supercapitalist is available at your friendly torrent website...

The reviewers (non finance people) seem to like it:

I read people related to the movie were paying people to write positive reviews, just a rumor though.
I can't possibly see how anyone can think it's a good movie, the script was poor and the acting was below poor.

Is that the one with Vinn Deezle instructing the rookies to .... "Don't pitch the bitch!" ? :D :p

Vin didn't have that line. It was Nicky Katt.
