Worst Wall Street Clichés

Here's the biggest cliché I have yet to understand:

Boo-yah!!!

Who the hell came up with such a boneheaded expression (I'm sure Cramer isn't smart enough to take the credit) and just what does it mean? LMAO

Quote from rickf:

"Make Money Regardess of whether stocks go up, down, or nowhere at all...."

In your dreams. :D
Man, you people are cracking me up!

1- "Going forward"

2- "At the margin"

3- "Long term investors should be buying this selloff"

4- "It's too late to sell here (heard during the tech crash, Enron, Worldcom, Wachovia, Bear Stearns, Lehman, Countrywide, etc, etc, etc)

5- "Invest like Warren Buffet" (as if the average joe can get sweetheart deals like Warren did with Goldman, GE, etc).

[our system] works in any timeframe and in any market [- and for just $4,999 you too can make the market your personal ATM!]

It was a random knucklehead that said it to Cramer and it just stuck. Nothing more. It's part of our culture whether it makes any sense or not. Sometimes I think people just call to say it and shout out to their friends.

Quote from schizo:

  • The market is ALWAYS right. (my ass!)
  • The market looks out into the future by at least 6 months. (hogwash!)
  • Smart money runs the show. (If I recall, more than half of these "smart" morons were welfare recipients last year.)
  • Don't catch a falling knife. (Hey, stupid, the only reason the market stopped falling was because bigger idiots than you came in and caught the damn knife.)

I'm sure the list will grow over time. For the time being, add you own should you wish.
CHIT-CHAT :(
