Worst Trade In NFL History?

It depends on what the owner wants.

If it parks more butts in the stadiums, sells a bunch of Chicago Bears Cutler jerseys, etc., it makes him more money then the trade is a success.

Does the owner really care more about winning than money?

I don't believe that for a moment, because the owner has put up with crappy QB's for many many years...

Success in the eyes of the fans?

Scoreboard...not revenue.

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

To summarize the Cutler deal.

Pro: Bears finally get an NFL QB.

Con: They paid a big price.

What will determine if the trade is considered a success or not?

I don't know if it is the worst trade in NFL history, but I do think the Broncos got the better end of that deal. If the Bears had gotten Brady, or Roethlisberger it would have been worth it. I am not even convinced that Cutler is better than Grossman or Orton.

You are nuts..... You got the better end of the deal. 25 years old, right now right here is better than pot luck in the draft....Trust me, it may seem like the short end of the stick but it ain't.

Of course anything can happen, like a broken toe nail or him throwing a hissy fit...that aside I think chicago got the better end of it

Quote from Ticktaker:

That is why when you have the opportunity to get a franchise QB who is 25 years old with proven NFL success, you get that guy.

Exactly...
